I have a Canon S2 SI and I want to get some rechargables and I have looked around the net and many have said just get a set of Energizers 2500mAh AA and the charger. Some say this is the BEST charger out there:

Here's a review of the above charger:

Here's a link for different brands tested:

Some say these are the BEST rechargables:

So what do you use IF you use AA rechargables?

This is the only answer you'll need: What you picked is correct. Go with it.

Get whatever batteries, but make sure you don't skimp on a charger.

Maha FTW.

But I didn't pick yet. I am undecided on either "Powerex" or "Energizer"

Get the Maha charger. And buy the Energizer 2500s at Walmart.

The CCrane charger works well too.

 same here. I'm very pleased with the rapid charger I got...charges 4 AA NiMH batteries fully in about 90 minutes, as opposed to 14 hours with my old charger :p

I haven't had much luck with rechargeable batteries for my Vivitar flash. They just seemed to get weaker and weaker. I get a lot of use out of the nonrechargeable Duracell Digital Ultras.

I have a couple of thoes energizer chargers, they work ok. The batteries had a very short life though and now won't hold a charge.

I typically just go buy some 2000mAh radio shack jobs. They work fine.

Actually you got the crappy charger. I just bought the same camera, but got this charger:

LaCrosse BC900

Yeah, that's right. Customizable charging speeds, battery refresher, overheat detection, 4 independent channels (charge diff brands and/or diff discharge rates at the same time), test mode, independent lcds, etc etc. It pretty much rocks. Plus it comes with like 8 AA and 4 AAA rechargables, and a carrying case. Plus adapters to charge C or D sized batteries

your charger is plenty good--much better than the walmart chargers. The bc900 is the lexus of chargers :)

They are both good, seriously. And you picked the right charger. It's not a big deal. This is a very inexpensive item. I have rechargeable AA's from 5 different companies.

I got Merkury 2500 mAh batteries and a Merkury charger cheap from eBay and haven't had any problems (8+ months).

  1. I hope you're happy , Dustin. I just bought this friggin' thing!
Took delivery today. It's refreshing two pairs of AAA NiMHs, and probably won't be done till Friday!

Quite a piece of technology. Only thing that would keep it from being worth the big price tag, is if it broke before several years passed. Otherwise, it's a keeper!
