i'm in market for a digital camera... i'm looking very hard at Canon A40 ... a sweet camera..

one thing is.. the camera MUST show the date on the picture when it's taken.. so far i've never seen digi cam do that...

is there any digi cam that has that feature? .. (even if i have to turn it on, if it's there, i'm sold)

plz lmk.. thanks in advance.!~!

My Canon S20 does this, as did my Kodak (in fact, I think most camera's do this).

Pretty happy with the S20 with a SanDisk 'Ultra' card (makes it a bit faster than when I had the microdrive in, but without the horrible battery drain)

I have had 6 digital cameras, and every one of them does that. That is how the shots are named by number and date. All of mine have been Olympus and Canon. I also know that Nikon and Fuji catalog by dates as well. Who knows what the non-camera makers do! 🙂

but can you make it show on the picture itselft? 🙂

thx

Yeah, I think almost every camera has the option of doing this... my Kodak DC5000 can put the date and time on the photo itself...

The thing is, it does this in quite ugly and big letters/numbers... so most people simply turn it off...

After re-reading your note - I conclude you are thinking film prints. Digital imagery is dated in the filename normally. In order to get that ugliness on a picture, you have to use editing software in most cases.
