Digital camera photos

The question my wife asked me:

"you know how we take pics with our digital camera
is there any way to, say, label them, write something under each
when we put them in our file and then when we copy them to send
to someone?"

Would anyone happen to know of a way to do this? She's talking about leaving the photos on the pc through the whole process.

I don't know of any easy way to do it, but it's simple if you know howto use Photoshop. Though, I'm guessing you don't if you are posting this...

um... i think you can write an addendum to the photo under photo description... but when photos are optimized for web, that part gets ripped off.

Hey, didn't think of that. Lol. Thanks. I was focused on specific digital photo editing software and ignored the biggest of them all!

yes, but doing it that way takes a LOT of time, patience, and it gets ripped off still if you print the photo.

just write a caption. i think there is a caption box in the jpg format...

alright, i found it.

in Paint Shop Pro (jasc)

it's under Image >> Image Information >> 2nd tab... big box labeled description. that's where you put that info.

that's a faster way of doing it. under psp, also, the shortcut to that is shift 1.

I might just fsck it and scrawl in a white rectangle in the bottom of the image 🙂

Why is your method so time consuming?

I think the person wants to edit the actual picture with a description, not the properties - which is what you are doing

oh... i like to leave the pictures in my archives as originals, then when i take em out for use, then i edit them. thus, i add descriptions to the archived pics so they arent damaged, when i want to use them.

You could try Irfranview. It'll also do both, text image over the Picture or append a text description to the .Jpg that you can read later.

Adobe photohop album does this, and organizes your photos in like a million different ways.. awesome awesome program
