yeah, but the 3 minute or so exposure time is quite the tradeoff. 45 seconds is the best they got it to, and thats unaccptable for most uses. plz get a link for the people who dont know where you read that

That's pretty cool... Too bad it takes so long for each picture. Pretty useless for anything moving. But for architectural uses like they talk about it's great.

Hmm. It's neat to see someone beat the big guns to the punch. This thing is pretty useless, but there's a lot of innovative thinking that went into building that camera.
It won't be long until there's a usable solution out there.
 
scanning digital backs for 4x5 and larger cameras arnt they new, they have been out for like 5 years, the cheapest ones cost around 5K which is the same price as teh top end Nikon and Canon DSLRs

yeah thats how they made that 3 GIGAPIXEL photo where you could zoom all the way in to see the numbers on cars license plates and sh1t
 
its a fricking scanner!

there is no practical revolution since it doesnt use a light sensitive chip to take the pictures
