My uncle is looking for a digital camera. He was really liking the HP 215 from best buy for $100 this weekend, but its only connection was USB. Most other cameras are like this too. I have never seen any, but are there any serial CF readers? Or can anyone recomend a descent camera with a serial connection. Not looking to spend too much, probably get a 1.3ish megapixel camera.

Thanks
Garrett

btw...fixing or adding usb to the computer is not an option, just wont work.

I would stay away from the HP215... From the reviews I read, the photo quality of the HP215 is ok, but eats batteries like crazy...

I personally have the HP315, and it's working great for me... photo quality is average, but battery life is really really long if you dont use the LCD screen much... the first set of AA batteries lasted me for weeks...

I got it for $200US including a free 32MB CF card, which holds more than 320 photos at 640 x 480... the camera comes with a 8MB CF card which holds another 80 640 x 480 photos...

You can look at some of Olypus`s cameras that still have RS232 connector, but
it would be much easier to see if your MoBo has USB connectors on itself, so if
it does, buy internal USB cable, and then you can buy any camera you like.
If you don`t have the connector on your MoBo, than I can suggest Olympus`s
cameras, for instance C-990 that has serial connection and is not expensive.
