Digital Camera Movie Too Big?

I shot a movie with my handheld digital camera (camera not camcorder) and the file size is 1.7 gigs. I tried to upload it to my computer, but I keep getting an error message saying that it cannot download the file. Upon looking it up, I found that the max size for files is 210 MB. Is there any way around this? I would very much like to get this video onto my computer.

the max size for what files is 210MB? are you simply copying the file from the camera or are you using program to import?
