digital camera minimum system requirements?

My dad is thinking about buying a digital camera, and I was just wondering what the minimum system requirements usually are so that he will be able to easily transer the images from the camera to his PC. The reason I ask is because he is still running an old Compaq Pentium 133MHz with only 32MB of RAM and Windows 95. I know that most digital cameras connect to the PC via USB, so he will have to buy a USB card and upgrade to at least Windows 98, but that isn't a problem. Is the rest of his system powerful enough to handle it?

Thanks,

It will probably work fine, although extremely slow... you should get him some ram too... 32mb is crippling... The general functions of a digital camera shouldnt be too taxing for the system though, after all, you are simply just transferring jpeg's through a usb connection, not too difficult, even for a 133...

I have a friend that just did the same thing on an old Gateway 133. Upgraded to 98se, upped the RAM, added a USB card.

Thanks for the help guys. He ended up getting the Nikon Coolpix 995....nice camera that I get to play with over the holidays. 🙂
I had my brother's old Pentium MMX 166MHz here with 64MB of RAM and Windows 98, so all I had to do was add a USB card and install the digicam software; everything went off without a hitch.
