My friend has a Cannon S330 with a Lithium Rechargable battery. He wants to know if its ok to place the battery in the charger even though its not completely empty on energy. He heard it may be bad for some batteries or decreases their efficiency when you charge the battery when its not completely empty? Is this true, or will his battery be fine to recharge even when its not completely empty?

No, you can recharge Lithium Ion batteries whenever you want, so go right ahead and top off the charge before you go on a trip or something. :) It's NiCD batteries that have a "memory" effect. With NiCDs, it's best to completely drain the battery before charging it again. NiMH batteries also have a less dramatic memory effect, but they can be fixed by completely charging and completely draining them a few times.

Lithium Ion batteries are the same kind of battery used in most cell phones... It does not have a memory, so u can charge it whenever u want (just like most cell phones)...
