I am using a canon s110 with windows xp. I remember when I first installed xp, I was able to just plug in the camera and xp recognized it and i could download and delete pictures directly from the camera. However, since I re-installed xp, when I plug in my camera, it asks for drivers, which I know it didn't ask for before (one of the features that wowed me when I first installed xp.) Can anyone tell me if I'm doing anything wrong? I really liked not having to install all the photo software that came with the camera. Thanks!

Since you have reinstalled XP, have you disabled any services? I know there are atleast 1 or 2 services that control automatic detection of stuff like that.

hmmm...the only thing i think i did differently is remove msn messenger a different way...I used the gpedit.msc method, but before I used the method of removing the hide refererence and then uninstalling it in the add/remove programs. Could this be the reason?
