Digital Camera Advice

I want to buy this camera with my fedral and state tax rebates. I like buying nice things and holding on to them. Will you guys tell me if you think this camera is worth $1099? How many pics can I get on a 16mb flashcard?

I don't know much about that model, but I was looking at the Canon G1 before buying a Nikon Coolpix 995. The G1 seemed impressive.

AS for how many pics you can get on a CF it all depends on picture quality. I have mine on fine and my pics are all around 800KB. If your going to pay 1000 for a camera you may as well get a bigger CF card at Newegg 128MB for $64 shipped.

Don't pay $1099 for the Pro 90. While you shouldn't buy from some crappy, grey-market NYC shop, you can get the Canon for $900-$950. Is it worth $1099 (or $950)? Read the extensive review to help you out.

An easy rule of thumb is 1 image per MB...assuming fine quality at 3mp. So that included 16MB card will hold about 16 images. Figure on getting a 128MB.

If you don't need the 10x zoom, go with the G1. Read of people not being happy with the image quality of the Pro90. Check out DPreview's Forums.
