Medion is a German company (surprise surprise, so is Aldi). I actually bought a Medion PC from aldi last year and love it. No problems at all so far except that the first time I tried sticking in memory stick in the internal 8-in-1 card reader that came with the pc, it didn't read. So I actually tried calling the medion 24/7 help line - got an answer immediately, told him the problem, the guy says they have a driver update - gave me the URL, it was working in 5 minutes. So I can vouch for medion PCs and PC support at least. Not sure about cameras, never seen one.

Test states camera is slow, pictures are not very sharp and are comparable with pictures taken with a good 3 mp sensor.

Medion and Aldi been around. Aldi has a good 30 day return policy and I had no issues with them before.
Not very known in the US since they are only in a couple cities, but they do have respectable deals.

if you are in the market for a cheap cam, I think this is a bargain. I will go and pic one of the readers up since USB2 for 10$ is a steal!

The difference in image quality is huge. I guess you get what you pay for. I remember reading somewhere that Medion cameras made by the same company that makes Gateway cameras.

i sell some medion stuff and we call it always gets returned, pretty crappy stuff, and medion won't take it back from us, so i avoid selling it

Anybody tried the card reader under Linux? I have a 8-in-1 that works only in Mandrake 9.1 for some reason, and this would be a good cheap replacement.
