1/6" Advanced HAD? CCD Imager, 680K Pixels Gross

1/6" Advanced HAD? (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD with 340K (effective) pixels provides stunning detail and clarity with exceptional video (up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution) and still image performance.

All of the digital video cameras I am looking at tell the CCD size, but NONE of them list what the actual video resolution is, once the file is imported into Windows. (.VOB, .MOD, .MPG, etc.)

Is there a straight line chart of these based on the CCD effective pixels?

I found a chart on JVC's site that shows the max is 720x480, but it lists this same size for 4 different cameras that are 680k, 1.07MP, 2.18MP and 5.37MP.

Can someone help me out?

IIRC, since DVD resolution has a maximum of 720x480, that's the limit. If you had an hd camcorder, then you'd be shooting at higher res.

Bingo
Your not getting a 5.37mp camcorder, your getting a camcorder than can take a 5mp crappy photo. 2 different things.
