Digital Camcorder help

Man am I ever confused. Wife wants a digital camcorder for her birthday and I have no idea what to buy. Being a gizmo I have to run through all the review sites and figure out what I want.

Anybody know some digital camcorders with these qualities? She's been eyeing the Sony TRV33.

Good video quality
Flexible autofocus
Good low-light performance
Microphone and light attachments
Small - I'm not sure you can get a small camera with good performance?

Thanks in advanced to any DV gurus!

very nice choice in a cam...a very compact cam...if you want a couple more options in that price range check out some JVC cameras...I like the sony's but the jvc does give some features that the sony doesnt

Thanks for the feedback. Went and looked at some cameras today. It really seems like I can get more camera (features/performance) for the money if I go with digital8. I'm wondering if I should save a little money and get a 600-700 dollar digital8 with a nice lense/light/zoom.

True about the JVCs, lots of goodies. Same with some of the panasonics.
