I'm looking at getting this camcorder for my sons summer vacation. It seems like a pretty decent camera but I've only seen it in the hands of his 12y/o cousin so if there are better for the same $$ I'm open to opinions. He's more into little video clips than HQ pics.

With it, I figured I'd pick up a couple 1GB sd cards but I see alot of different read/writes. Like these two-

~ $30
~ $40

Will the read/write have any negative impact on the cameras functionality or just transferring to/from hdd's?

Thanks

Thanks man. That first review actually brings up a concern I just thought of- the fps seems awfully low, even at 320x240. He actually says ~10fps but claims it looks good

Edit- re-reading what he said it was dvd quality that was ~10 fps. The manufacturer still only claims ~20fps at 320x240 though.

Maybe this one would be better.

Cool, I found a 10% off for the memory card so that faster card is still ~$32 delivered :)

damn thing is cutting into my conroe budget, lol, but I'd rather get a decent $150 camera than throw away two $80 cameras.
