Digital camara suggestions

Can anyone make some recommendations for a good digital camara for around $300-$600 range. I would like a good zoom (long distance) feature mainly. Thks..

Go to Imaging Resource, they have tons of digital camera reviews...

Sony has a couple of digicams equipped with 10x optical zoom... so if long distance zoom is important to you than u might wanna look at those... Other digicams mostly have only 2-3x optical zoom...

Remember, look for optical zoom only... digital zoom looks like crap...

If zoom is important to you, try and get more optical zoom rather than digital zoom. Digital zoom is done digitally and becomes pixalated

i just bought a refurb(returned item) of the olympus c-720uz (8x optical and like 3x digital 3mp) for like $333 shipped
should be comming in about like 5-8 days? haha i dunno
good luck with it

I'm leaning toward the Olympus c-720 also. Looking at the c- 700 too. The difference is c-700 is 10x optical zoom, 2.7 digital zoom and 2.1mp while c-720 is 8x optical, 3x digital, and 3.3mp. I wonder if the better focal length is worth losing some resolution.

Personally I would go for the 3.3MP...never know when you may want to print out bigger pics and your only losing 2X optical and make that up with the digital zoom end although not as beneficial.
10x2.7 vs 8X3 pretty much a wash
