Digital Cable vs. DiSH Network vs. DirecTV

I've been a loyal Dish customer for about two years, initially signed up for the Dish Top 100, it was upgraded to Top 120 and they started to charge $5/month more. I wasn't too pleased about it, but my dad is the one who pays the bills, I just make sure we have the best deal 🙂

Anyway, I have an OLD Dish Receiver, in Guide, it can only view something like 2 hrs in advance without taking 5 minutes to download another hour of programming from the satellite. Neighbor just got a new Dish 500 or something, it has TWO DAYS of programming in the guide.

I call up Dish, while it is provided FREE with new installs, I can not trade in my old receiver and get a new one for free. They want me to pay some $50 fee. So, I'm thinking Dish doesn't care about current customers anymore. So I'm thinking of cancelling and switching.

I'm looking for a programming package that has the basic cable channels, one PVR receiver and one regular receiver. I'm looking at keeping this to be under $45/month. Are there any deals out there at the moment I can cash out on.

directivo will run right around there... 40 for programming and 5 for the tivo... they should have a new install policy.

If you call and sign up a new acct on a phone number never used there before you can get the same deal from dish for a few less bucks (although their pvr is pretty bad)

My HOA dosent allow sat dishes on the outside of our townhomes.... The only place we can put them is in our screened in porch, but mine faces northeast 🙁

i've had all three...and i'd prefer directv. Although, personally, i don't see much dif between them and dish.

If you are in a Comcast area, consider the Comcast Dish Buy Back Deal. i sold my dish back to comcast and i'm getting $60.00 / month for Comcast Digital Silver Package with HBO AND Comcast Internet service. total cost including taxes etc is about $70/ month.

sweet sweet deal.
