I currently have a digital cable connection and also a internet cable connection from ATT. One cable is split up between the digital cable box and the cable modem. What I would like to do is receive the digital cable feed to my PC so I can record shows, movies, etc. onto my hard drive.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Can it be accomplished without having to buy or rent an additional digital cable box?

Also what kind of video card would be good for watching cable TV on my PC?

thanks for any help or suggestions

you just need a video capture card or tv-tuner with video capture card.

if you split the cable before the cable box, your steal line can't watch those non-basic channels.

if you split the cable after the cable box, your steal line and original line only can watch the same channel set at the cable box.
