Digital Cable Descramblers = Scam

Hopefully soon it'll be perfected. :Q

They weren't "conned". The device did EXACTLY what it said it would do. There was a thread here a while back and I pointed out the fact that the units store the PPV orders and will shutdown after so many orders without reporting the orders. If you could clear the memory in the unit you would be all set to go. Of course I think every one of these people got what they deserve. I can't afford PPV so guess what? I don't get it. Why do people feel they are ENTITLED to certain things so instead of earning them they steal it.

Not for me, I live in a condo complex, too much effort and aggrivation to get the associations approval to install a dish on the outside. Plus, I wouldn't be able to point it Southwest.

Programming HU cards are a pain in the a$$ after a while.

It takes less than 30 seconds to fix a hashed HU.

And with Dish if your card gets messed up you just unplug and replug your receiver and you're set.

I agree, Codewiz. The device works as advertised. It blocks a particular mechanism for sending PPV data back to the cable company. The fact that cable companies have alternative ways of querying data from a cable box or that they may completely disable said cable box is irrelevant.

If someone pays $20 to have their cable modem unlocked and days later, the cable company discovers this and disables the IP or sends a large excess-usage bill, that's not a scam. Or if you buy a box that lets you make "free" long distance phone calls and later the phone company discovers this and sends you a bill, you've not been scammed. The box worked as advertised...you just got caught through other mechanisms.
