Digital Cable Box with PC Home Theater?

I am planning on a home theater setup with my computer. I have time warner digital cable..my computer has the ATI All in wonder 9600 XT.. i like the ATI software that will let me play movies, pictures, tv, dvd, radio (looks and acts kinda like Windows XP: Media Center).. so basically im wanting to use the tv tuner on the video card.. is there a way to get that tv tuner to work with my cable box to get all my digital channels?

any info is appreciated .. thanks guys

Video out on cable box to video in on the pod thing that comes with the AIW. I'm assuming it has the pod thingie right? My 8500 does anyways...

ETA: Wrong forum.

If you plug your tv tuner card directly into the cable outlet, you will only get the analog channels 1-100, but you will be able to use the tv tuner to change the channels.

If you go from the digital tuner box into the tv card, you get all the channels, but you cannot change the channels in the computer. (ie you set the tv tuner to channel 4 and use the digital cable box to change channels) You can get an IR blaster to control the digital cable box from your computer.

thanks for the input guys unfortunatly i am aware of what i can do, i was just wondering if there was a way to hook them together from usb -> usb to utilize the digital channels and i wanted to use the AIW remote because it was RF and had other functions like the library and everything.

This conflict must also araise when working with the Windows Media Center OS. I will do some more research and see what can be done about it.

Thanks,

Why don't you call your CABLE COMPANY and ask the folks DIRECTLY who actually HAVE the hardware that you'll be using?

LOL. Right, why don't you try calling your cable company and ask them how you can hook up your digital cable box to your home theater PC? Be sure to fill us in on all the dead silence and confusion that follows that question.
