Trying to build a digital audio workstation. The Hot Deals forum has really helped me score some good deals on parts. however...im not all the way there yet.
Anyone that wants to discuss this?
I'm gonna be running dsp based korg oasys pci and lots more goodies. still trying to find a good computer audio forum. most are too cluttered with questions like "how come my midi doesnt make any sound?"
if you are interested, read this article "roll your own thunderbird"http://www.prorec.com/prorec/articles.nsf/articles/D6A94D6B2F7DA99186256A7F00747CC9 . prorec also has several other articles regarding digital audio optimization. it's a quality pro audio site. glad i stumbled on it. so many places are just hype.
ps. got something posted on hotdeals/iwanna seeking a good deal on 4 space rack. still making decision on mobo, cpu, ram, etc. please read the prorec article and tell me what you think. i don't think the guy who wrote it is God almighty, but, pro audio computing's a very specialized field. you have to tweak things a bit differently than other users for optimal results.
