Hi girls and guys I wasnt too sure about where to post this topic because it is rather an unusual situation to me. Here is the backround my dad is setting up a restaurant and they are planning to play a looping recording in the bathroom of chinese words translated into english.

Here is the setup:
1. We have a site where we can play chinese and english words out loud
2. We want to record the sounds when we play them
3. We need to say the chinese word first and then the english word after

So here is where im lost
1. How do I set up a program to record the sounds?
2. Do i need two computer or one or any additional hardware or cables?
3. If you know, how do I do this the easiest way possible?

Thank you for your help in advance

sounds like a very creepy bathroom...
by "a site" im guessing a website.
what kind of equipment do you have? sound card? etc..
I would suggest audicty for software. it really is a great software and its free. ( check out the software forum, free stuff thread)
one computer should be fine.

Download Audacity.
You should be able to achieve decent results with a standard computer microphone. Just pay attention to your recording levels in Audacity.

Take a regular 3.55mm cord. Plug one to the output of the computer (speakers) and then plug the other part into the input (microphone) and then have Audacity record it. You can play around with Audacity to have it play the English or Chinese part first.
