Can we post actual photographs like other forums inline - just in the photography forum. That would be excellent.

Photo contests would be so much easier if it were not for having to click each link individually.

i dunno. i'd like to say yes but i also like the choice of seeing what photos come up. i know sometimes people post photos that aren't exactly SFW sometimes, and having those pop up without any choice is not good.

you'll also have to limit photo size somehow. 20 pics at 3mb each is going to take awhile to load.

i also see the mods saying no for the same reason as other things - abuse. you know as soon as people know they can do it, the kiddies will be in there posting crap.

Why limit the fun to the photography forum? Inline photos have been used very effectively in the forums of xtremesystems w/ people posting pics of their rigs and benchmark screen captures.

I'm not worried about AT members not being mature enough to handle it. IMO, the biggest hurdle would be bandwidth usage.

Actually, it would not cost anandtech any bandwidth - just let us link to our own content. I would not expect AT to offer space to store pics - just let us reference a pic inline.

How do other forums survive by this logic? Kick them and ban them.

Stay off the photography forum at work. All the other forums could be a no photography zone.

i meant user bandwidth, taking long to load a page full of huge photos.

You can always have the photos load at a certain max resolution, and if the picture is larger, the person can click on it to see it full size. Also, in-line photos can be an option that can be checked on or off for people worried about forum speed.
