Digita CD playback

I have a Creative CD model CD5233E. The Digital CD Playback otion is grayout and I can not select it, never the less I installed the same CD ROM in a friends computer and I can select the digital playback in his computer. Why I don't have that option.? How can I activate it? We are, both, using WinME, 256 MB of RAM, 40 G hard drives. I have a Sound Blaster Live and he is using the on board sound card.

Hmmm.......

If your system doesn't allow digital playback through the IDE/SCSI bus (mine strangely doesn't, either), you probably need to run a 2-pin SPDIF cable from your CD-ROM to your sound card instead. But that is assuming both your CD-ROM drive and your sound card support CD-SPDIF connections.
