Digit Life R520 preview article

intersting how the vr-zone.com says 24pipes, 10vp and 650mhz!!!

So much mis information the only one who knows the truth is ATI ands they are likely changing it daily to make sure they will laucnh ahead of the GTX in apps...Unfortunately they know Nvidia will try to still their thunder so they are likely creating this coinfusion....

It may very well be 650-700mhz but it seems pretty credible that 16pipes were announced not 24pipes and now 2 more additional vertexes

Unfortunately? that just good business tactics

always keep the competition guessing 😉

Well that doesn't sound very promising considering I expect to eventually be at around 520/1400

At 477/1350 it clocks to 515/1350, and at 520 I suspect it will clock to around 550 at full load or thereabouts which would be almost unquestionably faster by a fair margin than X1800XT ..but we'll see

526/1350 is the max so far for me...even with the voltage set to 1.5v in the bios...just won't go any higher without a hard vmod...not to sure about doing it though

Rollo, did you notice the disclaimer in D-L's first paragraph?

It's no secret that there appeared a lot of preliminary data (for example, on www.anandtech.com and www.vr-zone.com) on future ATI products based on the new R520 chip and its crippled low-end modifications (RV5XX). Let's try to sum up the available information, pick out the most likely (logically) scenarios and parameters, and analyze the prospects. On we go.

IOW, I don't think they know for sure, but are just speculating. They could be right, could be wrong. But they don't corroborate Sander in that they don't seem to bring any new sources to the table.

As for now, there are no prospects of the R520 leadership, there will be no revolution. The most vital question is the same: the real price and availability of top ATI cards. Shall we see the 600 MHz R520 on the shelves right after the announcement?

Maybe HAs benches aren't so far off the mark?

looks like your clinging on to a thin string of hope?

rollo, stop trolling/troll baiting and posting yet MORE speculation...please...

looks like we'll all know soon enough, why doesn't everyone go and spend some time with their missus (or in most cases work on getting a missus 😉), clean out the attic, go fishing, or at least do something halfway constructive with themselves until the official (by which i mean AT) benchies are released...?

Why do I need "hope"? Whatever it is, I'm already sitting better than it could possibly be. I'll likely buy one anyway, so how do I "lose"?

Sorry, but what 1.5v are you taking about??

Tell me the specs are confirmed when the cards are availible to the market.

Thanks.

Seemed like a good find to me, it's the question on everyone's mind these days.

They're simply posting guesswork based on rumor.

Let's try to sum up the available information, pick out the most likely (logically) scenarios and parameters, and analyze the prospects.

To all appearances, the following solutions will be announced:

Nothing new here, folks.
