DigiDoc 5 Question..

Hey all,

Just picked up a DigiDoc 5 tonite from Fry's, and one thing I noticed when I got home and hooked it up is that it can only monitor 4 fans and 4 temp. cables. Now I have seeing it reviews that they usually handle 8, I'm not complaing as I don't have and don't need 8 fans and 8 thermal cables, 4 is fine. But is this one that only fry's carries? or are they all now like this.. Thanks..

I had mine monitoring several thermal probes. I had it running the little cheesy fan in the Doc its self, my Delta on my Alpha 6035 HS. Two Panaflos 80mms in the front of my case, a Panaflo 92 below my PS and another Panaflo 92mm in the top of my case.

I remember my Doc cycling through all eight probes and fans, even the ones where there was nothing connected. Are you sure you got a Digital Doc 5? I know some of the older Digital Doc 3s would only monitor 4?

Nah, the packaging says Digital Doc 5. It's distributed from a company called "pactech-inc.com" I just checked there website and they even have a version with 2 probes???

Hmm too wierd....My Digital Doc 5 is from MACPOWER. It has headers for eight fans (one is used by the crappy little fan in the doc) and headers for eight probes. It came with six regular probes and two flat probes for CPU etc... It had seven fan wires.

Yes, this is made by MacPower as well.. apparently this company pactech-inc. modifies them for the retail market and only makes them available with 2 and 4 fans/probes.
