DigiCam Owners - What do you use for batch-cropping your photos when getting them printed?

My camera outputs to std.res like 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200 and 2272x1704.

Those resolutions do NOT sync up with 4x6 or 5x7 or 8.5x12/11 std.photo sizes.

So, I can leave it up to the photoplace (i.e. costco) to crop at will or I can do it myself. Since I haven't been happy with their results I've gone ahead and spent the time with PaintShop Pro and the cropping tool to set the right aspect ratio and crop them myself. The other option is to tell them to reduce the size so that there are 'borders' around the photo. That's not preferred.

I've gotten rather proficient at using PSP to do this, but, it's still a PITA. A utility that does just that, and maybe a bonus RedEye adjustment feature, would be very handy.

I have irfanview as well, great for a lot of stuff but I didn't notice it was good for that... I'll look back into it... does it allow you to set the aspect ratio for cropping? I thought you could only click/drag the crop box around?

not sure about that. never used irfanview for that purpose.

but to get to it, goto File --> Batch Conversion/Rename

click the Batch Conversion button, checkbox the "Used advanced options" and then goto "Set Advanced Options".
