Digicam on a 'vertical dropzone' amusement ride?

I'm sure you're all familiar with 'vertical dropzone' amusement rides. The ones where they rise you to the top of a 300-foot pole and then drop you at 100km/h. I saw some pictures on Google, they were apparently taken by people during the drop. So what i'm wondering is whether they're actually stupid enough to allow cameras up there, or whether these people just snuck theirs in? Anyone ever try something like this?

When I was a kid my family went to Knotts Berry Farm and my sister and I went on one of those rides. I have some stills of her face during the drop. 🙂

Hahah, you HAVE to put those up here! 😀 So they actually allow cams?

I'm pretty sure they do, but they won't take responsibility for anything that you lose.

My mother has them somewhere.... I'll have to dig them up and scan them.

just buy a disposable camera and take a few shots. practice loading those things before the actual ride 😀

Not likely they let them take up cameras. The ride operators got pissed when we put breath mints on our knees and watched they levitate away when we dropped. Of course the mints came flying down from 250 feet up and smashed onto the pavement below which in retrospect probably wasn't all that safe for either those people below OR us.

hell at 6 flags, the cliff hanger i'll hold a penny in my hand as we drop. They don't seem to care, considering all the change in your pockets fly out anyways, you can hear it rattling in the car.
