Hi,
Cheers for taking the time out to read this post, and, if you do reply, thanks for that.

I am looking for a
MiniDV
12X or more magnification
2MP or more still pic
Good movie quality that will more than likely be watched on television rather than pc.
And must have Anologue Video IN (I have lots of older Hi8 cassettes and an old Hi8 camcorder, and I think it is easier to just put it through a digicam).
Looking to spend upto £650/$1000.
If you know of one, then please let me know.
Thank you.

Camcorderinfo is your friend. I have some other pro friends with small cameras that like the Canon Optura 60. Others recommend the Panasonic GS-250, but the 400 compares closer to the Canon. There is a Sony near the top of your range that is not so bad, but not sure it takes stills that well.

For the record, it would be better to get a $750 video camera AND a $250 still as neither does the other job well.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah - i got a digital stills - does what is needed, and, just for a laff, it has moviemode on it, but I want the opposite now.
As always.
Will study that site with fervour in my heart.
