Digg sucks

I used to find it fairly interesting and while it always seemed to have a bit of a bias towards apple and ubuntu, it seems like its really gone downhill lately. The apple fanboyism seems like the worst offender - around a quarter of the stories are about Apple and most of those are trash. Submit a story about a iPhone-like image appearing on a piece of toast and it'll get dugg to the front page in minutes

My current favourite is reddit - has all the usual top tech stories, but also a ton of quirky and interesting links, plus you can train it to generate news page based on your likes/dislikes.

I've been unhappy that it seems like the digg posters are getting away with lots of political advocacy. I dislike that aspect of it.

Digg's comment system is totally worthless. If you dare to say anything positive about Microsoft or negative about Apple, your comment will get moderated down to -10 by Apple fanboys in a matter of minutes. There is no useful discussion going on there, it's just a big Apple circle jerk.

And don't even get me started on all of the product rumors that get Dugg as news. It seems that almost anyone can make an iPod or RAZR "prototype" picture in Photoshop, post it on a blog, and make a Digg headline with the word "CONFIRMED" in the title, and it will almost instantly hit the front page. There is so much BS on the home page that I can't trust any of it.
