Digdug Post(tm): The best music you've never heard

This is the first in a series of threads, exposing the Anandtech community to new music. ow some of you will have inevitably heard this track, but its been chosen based on several criteria: (1) relative lack of marketing, (2) musicality, and most importantly (3) digdug's appreciation of the song.


Without further ado, I present:

Nouveau Western - MC Solaar

This is one of the best hip-hop tracks I've ever heard. Mind you, its in French, but the delivery and wonderful sampling make for an *excellent* track. It's never been played on anty mainstream station I've heard, so download and enjoy!

I agree. Just have a listen. Its one of the best tracks I've heard - and its not even in English. Maybe I'm from an older generation, but Hip-Hop isn't the slow sh*t on the radio today, but the likes of Public Enemy, De La Soul...you know, that kidn of thing. Not the poo-poo that I hear today like Missy Elliot and that crappola.
 
not sure if it's considered hip-hop or rap or whatever... but the new stuff Fort Minor, with mike shanona from linkin park is amazing.
 
Its apparently a well-written lyric, but I couldn't care less. I don't listen to lyrics in music unless its The Smiths or Aimee Mann or Ben Folds Five.

I don't think that the word "amazing" should ever be used with anybody associated with Linkin Park.

BTW Beastie Boys is the only hip hop I'll listen to.
 
The Beastie Boys are pretty much the STUPIDEST crap every. 40-year old, over the hill Jewish folk from NY aint exactly tight. What's up with that 4-beat scream at the end of all their crap?

except for to the 5 boroughs, that was biggest dissapointment ever.
 
The Beastie Boys SUCK. It was an excuse for white kids to like hip-hop. That is, before wiggerdom became accepted. Long live Eminem and his father, Vanilla Ice!
