Hi everyone,
I recently bought a couple of extra fans to help cool down my new comp, 2 Cougar Vortex HDB's to be exact. I have a Gigabyte Z77-UD4H mobo, and have been unable to control the fan speeds for these two fans automatically. I plugged them into fan #3 and #4 on the board, tried changing the bios to every possible scenario, but no matter what they keep running at full speed. I tried using EasyTune6 to change their speeds, as well as SpeedFan, but neither programs worked.
I know these aren't PWM fans, but changing the voltage does work for these (it says so on their website, and after not being able to figure out how to have the motherboard control the speed, I ran both fans to a manual switch on my case which works just fine; 5V, 7V and 12V all work to change the fan speed from low to max).
Does anyone have any experience with these fans/motherboard? Any help is appreciated. I can live with manually switching the fan speeds, but I would prefer to have them run automatically as they can get a bit loud on their max speed. Cheers!
