Different X800 XT models

I've been looking at different X800 XT cards and noticed that there's a huge price range they can fall in (anywhere from $475-$700). The most obvious price difference seems to be PCI express hich I don't have so I won't consider those. But there are still some cards that are 8x AGP and $700. Looking at the "effective speed" from newegg's site for the cards, I see that the cards are usually 1000mhz or 1120mhz but some 1000mhz cards are more expensive than the 1120mhz cards.

Are there any large performance differences between companies? Some of the companies I've seen:
ABIT
ASUS
ELSA
Sapphire
PowerColor
Connect 3D
GIGABYTE

Are there any companies I should stay away from (if these ever come into stock so I can get one)?

it's just high demand and low supply. Get what you can or wait for the next line in Jan-Feb (850).
 
Ok, I just read about the PE and non-PE versions which explains the difference in mhz. Pretty much my question is just are there any companies I should stay away from?

Also, I know ppl have had different experiences with ebay, but are they a trustworth site to get x800 xt's? Anyone know any sites that have any x800 xt's below $500 and have them in stock?
