Different versions of same motherboard model?

How can I tell which revision of a motherboard I have?

It's an EPox 8KHA+ KT266A board. I believe the two versions are 1.3 and 2.0 or something like that. The more recent revision can accommodate faster CPUs, so I just wanted to know what CPU to buy. I didn't find the answer on the Epox site . . .

You are talking about revisions, not versions. (Versions would be w/ or w/o LAN or such.)

Epox usually has quite a lot of information on their boards on the web site - including CPU compatibility info. If you can't find it, just ask them.

Thanks for the clarification: I was using version and revision interchangeably . . .

BTW, I found the info. The revision number for this board is printed on one corner, nearest the PCI slots. I have a 2.0!

Yeah, that "version 2.0" stuff is really popular. Most people say it doesn't matter - well, it doesn't ... until you actually do have several versions of the same revision of a product.

Revisions bring a product forward. Versions are sidesteps.
