Different temp readings on A7V with different BIOSes?????

Howdy All...

I have read that on the A7V (mine's rev 1.02 I think...or 1.2...the one with the 2), the BIOS that is used can make a huge difference in what the temp of the CPU is. I can verify that this is indeed true...I went from 48-50ish degrees at idle using the 1005C to 55-58ish degrees at IDLE under the latest 1007. These readings are coming from MBM5.

So my question is this: Are the different BIOSes actually changing the temp of the CPU? Or is it just what temp it reads? I don't have any kind of thermal sensor or any other way to check the temp, so it's just based on MBM5 readings. Since I've upgraded the BIOS, I even opened up the case, put my 80mm fans back in, and have a small desk fan blowing in it. And it's STILL hot. Should I be worried? Or is it just the reading that gets messed up.

For detailed specs, check out my rig link...but in a nutshell, 900MHz Tbird @ 1GHz on an A7V.

Thanx in advance...

Variations in temp readings can be because the BIOS revision actually causes the change in temp, OR the BIOS is reading the temps differently but it is really unchanged.

I have noticed more variations with Asus boards than any other I have owned.
