Different series of tires on van

05 Toyota Sienna van. I have 60 series tires on the rear and want to know if it's ok to put 50 series tires on the front all tires are 17 inch. I was told by somebody that if I put the 50- series tires on the front that I would ruin my transmission. Can anybody tell me the truth?
