Different series of tires on van

2005 Toyota sienna van. I have 60 series tires on the back and someone gave me 50 series tires for other front. All the tires are 17 inch. Can I put those 50 series tires on the front without causing any harm to the tranny?

Do you have an AWD model? If so, don't do it or you will probably kill your center differential.

Rears are p225
Fry are p215

the 50 and 60 number is a ratio of tire height to width. You need both numbers to figure out the diameter. I just plugged in the numbers for both options so you can see the diameter differences. It will just throw of the speedo.

225/60/17 = 27.63 diameter
225/50/17 = 25.86

215/60/17 = 27.16
215/50/17 = 25.46

also youll have higher RPMs than before while at any speeds. will only really notice it on the freeway and such tho.

my 2wd subaru kicks the TCS light with different size tires despite not being AWD, the speed sensors are still on all 4 wheels and thinks it is losing traction.
