Different Power Supply Question

Hey everybody, I may very well have a PS problem, but it could be other things. My sister's new computer (AXP 1900, 256mb ram, Kyro card, ECS K7S5A) is having problems playing GTA3. Every hour, the computer freezes. The PS is only 300w and it is in a cheap $30 case (blame your friendly local computer show) Other possible problems include:

- Video card drivers may not be up to date
- Windows 98

It is not the cooling, I believe there is a case fan, and the HSF is the AMD one. Help!

PS: sign princessgurl_07@yahoo.com up for every known spam list, the idiot trried to send a virus to my computer.

I wouldn't rule out cooling. I have an Athlon 1700+ and am running the PS fan, a rear 80mm case fan, and a 120mm front case fan to keep my system cool. I don't O/C and am also using the AMD CPU fan and heatsink. With this setup I am still run up to just over 50C, which isn't bad, but higher than I would like. Especially since it is only a $30 case the airflow might not be good. Does the MB have any temp sensors? This would really be the first thing I would check since you can make it an hour.

Is it Win 98 or 98SE? I would try the video drivers, but then again if it is a video driver problem it usually won't run for an hour before crashing. Maybe I should ask are any other programs open like Outlook?

Nope, no other programs open. I was going to try some new video drivers tomorrow. I'll check for sensors while I'm on. Thanks.
