different mx1000 versions?

ok, I have used two different versions of the mx1000 laser mouse from logitech.

My current mx1000 has the metallic blue sheen as seen in most of the online reviews. My returned version had a painted top similar to the mx510 series but with out the black swirls (its like a dark navy blue).

if you have a mx1000 which version do you have. i noticed my newer mx1000 with the blue sheen does not wobble or lag, but my older mx1000 with the paint wobbled and lagged?
