Hi all.
Well i just baught a Seagate Internal Sata 500gb hard drive from BestBuy with a model number (on box) of ST3500641AS-RK but when i opened it to install my Bios was saying (as well as other win programs) that the model number was a ST3500320AS . I took the hard drive out of computer and yes the label on top of hard drive listed it as a ST3500320AS ?? Oh and the PN is different as well? I tried to email Seagate but have yet to hear from them. I don't know much about computers especially hard drives so any help would be great. So which should i believe the hard drive is? The box model number or the label on hard drive as well as my Bios? And also which one is a better model? I went to Seagates website to check out the diff. models thinking eather i got a better (hopefully:) model by mistake or somehow i got a less quality one but i couldn't make heads or tails of any of the info. Ok well hoping i got a better hard drive and thanks for any help.

The ST3500320AS is the newer version, with double the cache, plus fewer platters. It's higher performance than the ST3500641AS-RK, in other words.

Oh ok. Thanks for the reply myocardia. So i guess i should trust what my Bios and what it says on the top of the hard drive itself, NOT the box right? Also this is Seagate which came with a 5 year warrenty (which is why i baught it!)but i wouldn't be able to use the warrenty right? Becouse both the box and my Bestbuy reciept says its a ST3500641AS-RK. Would they just think i stuck anyold hard drive in the box if i needed to use the warrenty? I'm really confused- On one hand i got a better Hard drive but then on the other hand i may not be able to use the warrenty? I guess i should just return it to Bestbuy. But then how do they know i didn't just stick my old hard drive into this box?
