greetings!
I'm running A3700+ on Asus A8N-VM CSM, which is a microATX MO and has a lone overclocking option of HTT adjustment from 200 to 240MHz in 1MHz increments.
1. I set HTT at 219. Therefore, CPU clock should be (219*11=) 2409MHz.
2. However, CPU report tool in BIOS menu reports CPU clock to be (221*11=) 2431, even though HTT is set to be 219 in the same BIOS.
3. Once XP is booted up, XP reports the CPU clock to be 2.42GHz. Running CPU-Z reports HTT to be 220MHz, with CPU at 2420(=220*11), confirming what XP reports.
I know the difference is miniscule but it's there nevertheless. Can someone explain why this is so and which value should be trusted?
Thanks in advance
