Different Geforce FX cards?

There is a Geforce FX on presale at Compusa by PNY.
Are there going to be different types of cards initially? Or the same card, different brands?
Reason I ask, I don't know if PNY is a good brand video card, but if they are all going to be the same card, just different brand, does it matter?

best buy also has a geforce fx on presale.....brand is bfg and it also comes with a preorder pack (includes t-shirt, hat, coupons, games(i think), etc)...price is the same as the pny card

I don't really know much about these two brands but performance will probably be pretty close since they will probably just follow the nvidia reference design initially

I think nVidia will be producing their own version of the card, expect I think its for professinal users. The best card supposedly will be called the GeForce FX Ti 5800 Ultra, MSRP $500 😀

The ones that initially come out will only have 128 meg
I think it will be best to wait for the 256 meg ones

gizbug is absolutely correct. You're gonna want to wait for the 256MB cards as games based on the Unreal II and Doom III engines will require more than 128MB on board.🙂

Yeah. The games will require 256meg on board or you can't play them. You'll have to throw your 128meg card in the trash.

Games that wont play on anything less then 256mb are a long way off, hell people still can play most games even if its on crap settings on a 16mb card. I have been playing most games on my intel 8210E onboard graphics. So 128mb and even 64mb will be lasting a while still.

yeah you can, for example my intel onboard graphics just processes, doesn't have any memory so all of my video memory is from my ram.
