Different brand 72pin simms on same bank?

I'm wondering if two simms from different manufacturers will work together on one memory bank. They are both 16mb, same # of chips, EDO, 2k refresh, 60ns. Or do they have to be from the same manufacturer to be considered a matched pair?

I ran mismatched pairs on both a 486 and a P-200. In fact, the two simms had different number of chips on the board. I was told it wouldn't work, but it did. Go figure!

Thanks for the input :) So I guess I have a chance.

But I could use something more concrete before I made an ill-advised purchase. Anyone know if I can use these two sticks together?

check the specs for your motherboard as a start. But if you've matched the speed and size, manufactor shouldn't matter,..........unless you get some total junk!!!!!

usually the biggest things to watch are putting them in pairs of the same memory size and speed. If putting in more them one pair you can sometimes mix size, but speed should be consistant across the board.

hope this helps.

It should work perfectly fine, I wouldn't even think at all that there'd be a problem with that.

Why the heck would it have to be the same manufacturer? As long as the memory is the same, it doesn't matter.
