I purchased an 8K7A+ from Fry's, but (as I waited for the rest of my new rig parts to arrive) I found it cheaper at Z-buy ($149 shipped as opposed to $161 w/ tax). As I have not made it back to Fry's return the first one just yet -- and also recently received the Z-buy board -- I decided to take a close look at them side-by-side since one is Rev 1.0 (the Fry's one) and one is Rec 1.1 (the Z-Buy one).
Differences I noticed:
Bios chip -- Rev 1.0 is marked "H" and 1.1 is marked "B" (perhaps the B indicates that 1.1 has the updated BIOS installed??)
North Bridge Fan -- 1.0 is branded "AAVID" while 1.1 is a CoolMaster (and the Coolmaster fan is noticably larger in stature)
HighPoint RAID chip -- 1.0 bears the marking "A015" and the 1.1 bears the marking "A025" -- perhaps an updated RAID chip??
I did NOT notice any differences in the transistors around the AGP slots as noted here.
Other than these differences -- if they are differences -- I cannot find any significant differences.
Anyone have any input on this?
