Differences in PC133 memory

I still don't understand the different SDRAM memories out there. I see things like "Low Density" and "High Density" and " 32 x 4" . I'm wanting to buy memory online for some older systems that use SDRAM. If anyone knows and remebers and can tell me what I need to lookout for before buying, that would be great. Thank you.

Best thing to do at this point would be to go to crucial.com and look at their memory configurator. That way you are guranteed to find ram that will work.

The suggestion to go to crucial is a good one. 🙂

What kind of older systems are you working with? My rule of thumb is that pre-athlon and pre-P3 will typically use low-density (eg. 16x8 config) and 256MB (or smaller) modules. However keep in mind that it really is a motherboard chipset limitation. Single or double-sided should be fine as long as they aren't in a high density (memory chips with a data width of 4-bits) 32x4 configuration.

I third the Crucial suggestion 🙂 Good pirces and service. Guaranteed to work if you use their configurator and lifetime warranty.
