Differences in designing for IE and Firefox?

I am trying to design a site, however, the spacing issue between the two browsers is driving me NUTS. I have less than a MM of a color peaking out over the edge in IE when in Mozilla it is PERFECT. Why is the spacing different.

Also, if I make one table with background. Firefox sees the background, IE makes it the background color. WHY?

Site in question: Linky

Look on the far right in IE there is a splotch of yellow that does not appear in Firefox.

I would appreciate any help.

hmm...couldn't see (or maybe i didn't get it) the color peaking out over the edge of the page in msie...
maybe i just miss it? care to take a ss and point out what you meant?

btw, in your code/new_menu3.js file, you still have image file references to your local file (C🙂. you might want to take a look at those..

Also, on msie, i can see an end comment --> displayed on top of the navigation menu. i don't really have the time to find it for now, but maybe i'll come back later and see what's up.

Also, if I make one table with background. Firefox sees the background, IE makes it the background color. WHY?
i don't get it? example?

I ended up finding the "yellow" background for that area and making it a dark gray 333333 and it looks better. I got the --> thing to worked on it alot today.

Thanks for the new_menu3 fix, only netscape picked up on it and didnt show the images. I wondered why.
