If one has a 1.2Ghz Athlon on an Epox 8k7a.. then in order to run it at 1.4ghz would you just have to pump up the clock multiplier from 9 to 10.5?
Or is there something you have to change on the chip or mb itself?
(and of course assume that the cooling is adequate)
Assuming the chip can run at 1.4 (not all can) you'll have to unlock the chip (if not factory unlocked) and then change the multiplier setting on the mobo (dip switches). You can also clock it to 1.4 by upping your FSB in the BIOS assuming all of your components and RAM can handle the increased speed. The Mobo forum probably has dozens of threads about doing this.
