differences between these 2 enermax's?

The more expensive one (the FC) has fan control...basically there's a small heat-sensitive diode that you place near the cpu and depending on the temperature, the fans increase or decrease speeds. Both are very quiet...I'm using the EG365VE-FC and it's a fantastic power supply! I may wanna switch to the 430W with a couple 4-pin splitters if I buy a couple more hdd's though...

yea, I'd agree that those two are the best...I'm most familiar with Enermax so I'd stick with them...get the fan control while you're at it, worth the $3 extra.

The FC models also allow the mobo to shut off the rear fan in some low power modes, the regular model just allows rear fan rpm monitoring.

Is Fan Control worth any extra? Not to me, just a marketing gimmick as far as I'm concerned. The fans are so quiet that you won't normally hear them, anyway.

thx guys

not really, as it's not that loud to begin with, *plus* it helps to cool a little better since the fans are going at full speed the whole time.
