Just wondering what the deal is with these two boards... I was planning on picking one up from newegg and they have both listed.

The Asus website doesn't list the E/L so I wondered at first if it just meant it included the optional LAN adapter, but the -E has that as well... The descriptions look a little different. The E/L appears to have a SiS chipset instead of Intel? Anybody know if this is true?

The P4S533-E is $156 while the P4S533-E/L is $123.

Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

I think I answered my own question once I read what I actually typed. The P4-S-533 is the sis chipset while the P4-B-533 is the intel, right? Didn't realize they had two different models.

Any reason at all to consider the sis other than cost?

The P4S533 has no AGP/PCI lock, so if you are going to overclock don't pick this board. Mine is stable at 150mhz fsb, but I doubt it will go much higher than that. I don't know if the P4B533 has PCI/AGP lock, but I've heard that the Intel 845E is a very stable chipset.

Why not wait for reviews on the P4SDX which supports Dual Channel DDR? You might want to read this before buying a board just yet:

Check it out

As far as the P4S533 goes I love mine. True, it doesn't have the PCI/AGP lock but mine is rock solid at 157FSB. Board is very fast and very stable, but I'll definitely be getting a P4SDX if the reviews show the kind of performance leap everyone is anticipating with this new chipset.

I love my board too, but I think I am also going to get a DC board when they come out!
