Differences between golden orbs?

Hello, I was just wondering about the orb coolers. I have seen some pictures of some of them that have a black border around the fan and the installation describes seperating the clip from the heatsink to install it. My orb that I bought however, has no black border around the fan, and the mounting clip doesn't seperate from the heatsink. Does anyone know what's up with this (more specifically, is there a performance difference between the two of them)?

From what I read, the one's with the black plastic insert are older than their "pure gold" brethren. The older one's are supposed to push more air, as their fans rotate a few(~200-600??) rpm faster than the newer one's. Obviously, the older " black-ringed" ones are more desirable.

Darn. Oh well. I guess it isn't too bad. I'm planning on replacing this with an Agilent Arcticooler as soon as they're available. This one should do until then. My case is reasonably well ventilated, but nothing extreme.

I think it was at heatsink guide I saw that the older ones with the black band are slightly more efficient and the newer ones are quieter.

Per Tillman, the latest version is the best for performance. It comes with a fan held in place by 3 screws, and the fan is a higher output than the older versions.
