I am trying to buy this MOBO but I am terribly confused as far as the reviews.

all the reviews praised the Epox 8k7a+ (Raid) but I can only buy Epox 8k7a (non raid)for about $130.00, I still do not know if there are major differences in between those two.

I do not care for raid, is the Epox 8k7a a recommended buy?

Is the Epox 8k7a+ the great motherboard and Epox 8k7a is not ?

Can anyone tell me the differences, please?

What Cooling Fan should I use?

What power supply its recommended?

How about a good CPU+MoBO price combination?, I want to use it with a 1.33ghz 266fsb Athlon.

I do not care for Raid at all, I do not need it.

Are the Epox 8K7a+ applicable to 8k7a ?

TIA

"I do not care for Raid at all, I do not need it."

Then go with the 8K7A and save a few bucks. The difference between the two is just the + one has a RAID controller and extra RAID IDE Slots.

If you don't care about Raid, which I didn't either, the 8K7A is the MB for you. I bought this MB and it is great. No problems whatsoever, and I never built a system from scratch before this one. Also, if you notice some of the reviews, even though the title reads 8K7A+, they are actually reviewing the 8K7A. One reviewer stated that the + version wasn't available so he reviewed the non + version, even though he had the + in the title. This MB is so easy to set up. I wasn't originally going to overclock my system, but everything is right there and easy to find, I had to see what this puppy would do. I installed a 1.2 GHz Athlon and it is now running stable at 1.5 GHz overclocked.:)

8K7A is exactly the same board as 8K7A+, just no HighPt RAID chip, or 2 extra IDE slots put on the board. My 8K7A has the layout for RAID, just no component, which doesn't bother me one bit. They're are the same.

What about a cooling fan, and power requirements, any good deals on a combo (cpu-mobo) with 1.33 mhz 266fsb Athlon?

TIA
